| About I love trying out new things, especially when it comes to internet technology. I never really kept a journal, but it's something that I've always wanted to do. Now, everybody will get a chance to look inside my twisted, and somewhat-warped mind.
I've also subscribed to Audio Blog, so a few times a week, I'll leave actual voice blogs. Very cool!XML Newsfeed |

Hideous Space (Scanned @ Decoma)Hideous Space Not sure why there a hideous space if I post with my Blackberry. Best regards, Dino Filias posted by Dino at 10:49 AM (permanent link) (1) comments Updated Signature (Scanned @ Decoma)Updated Signature I updated my Blackberry email signature back to default, so there's less personal info. Better for the Blog! Best regards, Dino Filias posted by Dino at 10:23 AM (permanent link) (0) comments Tuesday, May 25, 2004
Moo I'm, for-sure, lactose-intolerant. You'd think that after 35 years of drinking cow's milk, my body would adapt and learn how to digest this liquid lead. Nope. The older I get, my stomach seems to be losing its memory. I think my threashold is one cup of liquid lead every other day... down from one per day just a few years ago. posted by Dino at 1:03 AM (permanent link) (0) comments Thursday, May 20, 2004
$800 in Change... Literally I collect change, sort it and roll it. I've been doing it for years. In spirit of commodity management and inventory reduction (I'm moving soon), I decided to convert the rolls of coins into weightless electronic money (i.e. just put moulah in the bank). I can't believe that out of $800 in rolled coins, I only had one roll that was an error (there was a dime in a nickel roll). I also had a hefty mix of Canadian coins... maybe 5%, and the bank didn't even notice, since they weighed each individual roll instead of resorting. I was happy. So the question now is: what do I do with the money? I want to make a frivolous purchase. I haven't decided what to buy. I'm thinking that perhaps I'll just buy a Pentium 4 3.4GHz Extreme Edition CPU. It's a killer processor. It is the top of the line CPU. I currently have a P4 3.2, which sports 512K of L3 cache. The P4 3.4 EE sports 2MB of L3 cache. Not sure I'll notice any difference. Price difference is $1000 for the P4 3.4 EE and $300 for the P4 3.2. I guess I could sell my P4 3.2 on ebay. Or perhaps I buy a new digital camera or maybe a digital camcorder. Or maybe I buy new Klipcsh speakers. I have no idea. Fun. posted by Dino at 12:44 PM (permanent link) (4) comments Tuesday, May 18, 2004
XML Newsfeed I know people are dying to add my blog to their sites, so I enabled an XML newsfeed: http://dinofilias.com/blog/atom.xml Blogger is fun. posted by Dino at 4:44 PM (permanent link) (4) comments (Scanned @ Decoma)Email from My Blackberry This is an email from my Blackberry. Nice feature. However, it posts my business info, which is set up as a default business signature. No way around it, really, other than turning off my signature in my settings. I don't want to do that, so I'll have to edit my post and delete the signature info at a later date. It's not as slick as Moveable Type, but it's not bad. It'll do. Added "Email to My Blog" Another new feature is the ability for me to email directly to my blog. Great feature, since I can send a blog entry direct from my Blackberry... but there is a downside. My Blackberry automatically adds my work signature with every email. Not only does it take up a huge chunk of real estate, it also lists all my work phone numbers and work emails. I either have to turn off my sig, or just edit my posts at a later date. I think I'll just edit then at a later date. Props to Peter for pointing out these new Blogger features... even though he is a devout Moveable Type, user. :) posted by Dino at 4:15 PM (permanent link) (0) comments Monday, May 17, 2004
Flower Day, Sunday, May 16, 2004 Last year on Flower Day, I asked Danielle to marry me! We started off our day by heading down to Eastern Market located in Detroit off of Mack Ave. We found a great parking spot, within walking distance from most of the flower distributors. By the end of the day, we had Danielle's car crammed from head to tail with flats of flowers (Zinnia's, Gerber Daisies, and Impatiens), hanging baskets, and even a bag of cow dung. It was awesome. We also found a little time to share an elephant ear, and a bag of kettle corn. It was a wonderful day at Eastern Market... definitely worth the drive. Prepping and planting flowers was the hard part. My obese and outta-shape body is paying dearly for it right now. Every bone in my body aches. The house definitely has curb appeal again. Danielle gets a gold star for basically doing ALL the planting. She's my trooper! I basically did the bush trimming, weed pulling and soil preparation. It was hard work. We're not even done yet. I have two more flats to plant, along with two more deck planters, as well as de-weeding the entire back 40. posted by Dino at 1:06 PM (permanent link) (2) comments |
